  • Von Ibler - Innes Schola Cantorum Award Posted on 10 August 2015

Judy is delighted to announce that she is the very proud recipient of the inaugural Von Ibler- Innes award. The generous bursary for continuing study is awarded to deserving Edinburgh University graduates who have completed post-graduate conservatoire degrees and are taking their first steps into the professional world, and is received with great thanks for the honour of the award, and for the continuing support of Dr Eric von Ibler of Schola Cantorum, Edinburgh.

This honour comes after a joyful trip to sing in Edinburgh, working with the Kellie Consort, solos at the service at Canonmills Baptist Church celebrating the opening of the Edinburgh International Festival and a solo recital 'Earth & Sky' - a programme of English art song with Duncan Appleby, piano, and Simon Niemiński, organ, which included songs by Bridge, Vaughan-Williams, Quilter, Moeran, and the Potts transcription of Elgar's Sea PIctures. With the grand, colourful Father Willis organ and the generous acoustic of St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, the venue seemed tailor-made for Elgar's gorgeous contralto song cycle.
